Care Information

Luminous Breath’s makes each piece of jewellery with care. Jewellery is crafted from precious metals such as Gold, Platinum and Silver of various alloys which can then be set with natural pearls, opals, precious stones and gemstones. These materials vary in their durability, we ask that you read this care guide so that you may handle and wear your jewellery with appropriate care.

If you have any question about how to care for your piece do not hesitate to contact us.

Cleaning

We recommend that your jewellery is wiped frequently with a soft jewellery polishing cloth.

Most metals and stones can be cleaned carefully in lukewarm water with mild detergent, in a bowl using a soft brush to clean behind the stones, before rinsing in a fresh bowl of water. After cleaning it should be carefully dried thoroughly with a soft cloth.

Some pieces should not be cleaned. These include but are not limited to those that include Opal, Pearl, or Turquoise. Never hesitate to contact us with regards to cleaning instructions if you are unsure.

Metals and Stones care information

You should not wear your jewellery while doing activities where it could be damaged or lost such as gardening, swimming, exercising, or manual work with your hands. Metals may be bent, scratch or snapped and gemstones may be chipped, scratched or lost when inappropriate force is applied.

Claw settings can be damaged if they are caught on clothing, bedding or other objects. This may result in the loss of Pearls, Gemstones or Precious Stones from the setting. Care should be taken to avoid damage to delicate pieces while wearing them, as well as putting them on and taking them off.

Chemicals and perfumes can damage or tarnish your jewellery. Many household cleaning products, cosmetics, perfumes and hair products contain chemicals that can cause damage to your jewellery. While using or applying anything that may contain damaging chemicals you should not wear your jewellery.

Chain Care Information

Chains are usually made of very fine pieces of metal and should be handled and worn with special care. Do not pull on the chain, this could break it. Chains can be caught or snagged in some fabrics causing them too break. Chains should not be worn while sleeping, exercising, gardening, swimming, performing manual labour or operating any kind of appliance or machinery. Chains should be stored carefully to avoid them becoming tangle or knotted, when this occurs the chain will be weakened and become prone to breakage.

Pearls and bead care information

Pearl or Precious beads are strung on delicate threads of appropriate materials matched with appropriate metal hardware. To keep your piece in original condition do not get them wet and avoid wearing while doing sweaty activities in addition to previously stated care guidance. Pearls are particularly sensitive to perfume, it is always advised to avoid spraying any perfume near your pearls to keep them looking their best.
